Professor Mahlanabish has written several articles not only on astrology but also on anthropology. In 1922, he published a book, The Statistical Analysis at Anglo Indian Stature. Was later published. Another article is Analysis of Race Mixture in Bengal. Through this article he tried to explore the ethnographic features of the Bengali nation. Did. In the field of research he raises a new formula. This formula is called Mahlanabish distance.
He also had a passion for meteorology. Attempts were made at the invitation of the West Bengal government to determine the cause of the floods in the country. Did. His research in this regard was quite fruitful. He was also touched by the benevolent hand in the construction of the Hirakund Dam in Orissa.
Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis made the main framework of the five-year plan. The greatest achievement of his life was the establishment of a research center on numerology called the Indian Statistical Institute. At present, this center has become one of the best schools in India and in the world.
